Fourth person charged over alleged involvement in Richmond murder

After a long-running and extensive investigation, detectives from the Bellerive Criminal Investigation Branch have today charged a fourth person in respect to the death of 22 year old Jarrod Leigh Turner.

Today a 29 year old former Moonah man was interviewed and is being charged with Murder.  It will be alleged he had involvement in the death of Mr Turner, who was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head on Colebrook Road, Richmond in April this year.

The man will appear in court at a later date in respect to the murder charge, but remains in custody on remand in respect of unrelated charges.

Three other people have already been charged over Mr Turner’s death earlier this year, including a 30 year old man who remains in custody after he was arrested in Fingal and charged with Murder.  A 22 year old woman and 14 year old female youth were both charged with being accessories after the fact and proceedings are pending.

Detective Inspector Doug Rossiter praised the work of detectives.

“Today’s result is the culmination of many months’ hard work by a dedicated team of investigators,” Detective Inspector Rossiter said.

“I’d also like to acknowledge those members of the public who have provided assistance to the investigation, and encourage those people in the community who have information but who have not been forthcoming to date to contact Bellerive CIB on 131444 at the earliest opportunity.”
