Police have seized a vehicle following a number of hooning incidents in the Ravenswood area over the past few days.

The vehicle – a pink Ford Falcon – was seized in Ravenswood yesterday by members of Northern Road Policing Services who are now investigating several reports of hooning in bush reserve immediately behind Pioneer Parade.

Concerns were raised by members of the public after a number of people – including youths – were seen performing burnouts on the grass in a vehicle with no exhaust, causing significant noise near residences.

On Sunday morning, police located the unregistered vehicle abandoned in Ravenswood.

Senior Constable Rockliff from Northern Road Policing Services said it was an example of reckless driving behaviour, with members of the public reporting people hanging out of the windows of the vehicle.

“Not only did they disturb residences in the area, they also put themselves at risk of serious injury,” he said.

“Enquiries will continue to identify those responsible, and we ask anyone with information to contact police.

“The vehicle has been seized under hooning legislation, and at this stage it will likely be crushed or otherwise disposed of.”
