Launceston detectives have charged a 33 year old man from Launceston with the armed robbery of a taxi driver at Invermay on 12 November 2011.

The taxi driver received minor injuries when he was allegedly assaulted and threatened with a sledge hammer.

The man is due to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at a later date charged with aggravated armed robbery and other drug related charges.
