Police are continuing to investigate an armed robbery at the Lighthouse Hotel around 9.18pm last night where it is believed a man threatened a staff member with a firearm or firearm part while demanding money.

After obtaining an amount of cash the man left the building via the southern door of the gaming lounge and was last seen running from a rear car park onto Victoria Street and then west along the train line.

The man was wearing a balaclava, a dark coloured jacket, dark coloured pants and black and white shoes. He is described by witnesses to be approximately 185cm tall, of slim build and fair coloured skin.

Police would like to speak to anyone with information that will assist investigations. Information can be provided to police on 131 444 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
