Man charged following serious assault at Derwent Park

Police are seeking witnesses as part of an ongoing investigation into a serious assault at Derwent Park yesterday.

Around 4.50pm police attended an altercation between two motorists on the Brooker Highway at the intersection of Brooker Highway and Derwent Park Road.

A 32-year-old man from West Moonah has been charged with Causing grievous bodily harm and will appear before the court today.

A 42-year-old man from New Town remains in hospital receiving medical treatment for injuries received.

Police believe the altercation was an isolated incident and there were no concerns to the wider community.
