Man charged in connection to $1million ICE seizure at Hobart Airport in August 2018

Police have charged a 35-year-old Lewisham man in connection to the 1kg of crystal methamphetamine (ICE) located in a man’s underpants at Hobart Airport last August.

As part of the ongoing police investigation, members of Southern Drug Investigation Service arrested the man this morning.

He was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance. He remains in custody and will appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.

On 24 August 2018, a 31-year-old Gagebrook man was arrested at Hobart Airport with 1kg of ICE in his underpants while disembarking a flight direct from Sydney. The drugs had a street value of approximately $1,000,000.
