Man charged over Trevallyn robbery and stolen firearm recovered

An 18-year-old man from Ravenswood has been arrested and charged with aggravated armed robbery, burglary and stealing in relation to the robbery of a taxi driver in Trevallyn on Thursday night.

Today Launceston CIB Detectives searched an address in Ravenswood where property stolen during the robbery was located.

Two men were arrested at the scene. The 18-year-old man was charged and a 31-year-old man, also from Ravenswood, was detained on an outstanding warrant of arrest.

Further, in an unrelated search of a West Launceston address police today located a firearm that was stolen during a burglary in December 2019.

A 27-year-old West Launceston man has been charged with a number of firearm offences including possess a stolen firearm and possess a loaded firearm. A female youth has been charged with similar offences plus burglary, stealing and motor vehicle stealing. Both were bailed to appear in court at a later date.
