Man charged with attempted murder

 

A 21 year old male has been interviewed by police and will be charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Ulverstone early this morning.

 

Detective Inspector Kim Steven said that the man would appear in an out of session court appearance this evening.

 

“The man was known to the victim but it was not a family violence incident,” Mr Steven said.

 

At approximately 4:20am on Wednesday the 23rd December 2015, police were called to Russell Avenue Ulverstone in relation to the stabbing of a 44 year old female.

 

The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene, before being conveyed to the North West Regional Hospital for further treatment. Her injuries are not life threatening.
