Man charged with multiple drink driving offences
A 27-year-old Parattah man has been charged with multiple driving offences following incidents in Devonport overnight.
Police received several reports from members of the public regarding the driving behaviour of a man travelling in a white flat-tray utility. The driver and his passenger were subsequently located by police in Devonport, where the man was taken into custody.
The man was initially charged with exceeding the prescribed alcohol limit, recording a blood alcohol concentration of 0.156, and driving whilst unlicensed.
Approximately 2.50 am, an off-duty police officer observed the 27-year-old man driving again. He was arrested and further charged with driving whilst disqualified and refusing a breath analysis. He was detained to appear before the court.
