Man charged with trafficking after police seize ice, cash, and ammunition
A man has been charged with trafficking after a number of searches in Launceston yesterday.
Members of Northern Drugs and Firearms Unit, with support from other police resources, conducted a number of searches at residences in Kings Meadows, Riverside and St Leonards.
During the searches, police seized quantities of cannabis, steroids, and other illicit substances, as well as ammunition, and cash.
A 43-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on a street in Kings Meadows, and found in possession of 61 grams of methylamphetamine, a quantity of ammunition, minor quantities of other illicit substances, and $5,450 cash.
He was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, dealing with property suspected of being proceeds of crime, offences relating to the seized ammunition, unlawful possession of property, and minor drug offences.
He was detained to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court this afternoon.
A 38-year-old Kings Meadows man will also be proceeded against by summons for sell and possess a controlled plant or product and ammunition-related offences.
