At about 3pm on Thursday 20 May 2021, Ambulance Tasmania and Police Search and Rescue members were tasked to attend a 23-year-old Devonport man who had crashed his mountain bike whilst riding the Gnarvana track at Railton.  He was riding with a friend who raised the alarm and kept him stable until assistance arrived.

The man received injuries to his back and shoulder and was airlifted by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to the Royal Hobart Hospital for treatment.
