At 3:20am on Monday, 12 December 2011 Ambulance Tasmania tasked the Westpac Police Rescue Helicopter to attend Brady’s Lake.

With the aid of night vision goggles the helicopter was able to land in the remote area.

A 79 year old Victorian man suffering from a serious medical condition was flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
