Police are investigating an armed robbery at a business on George Town Road, Newnham, in the vicinity of Parklands Parade, on Tuesday 25 August 2026.

Shortly before 8.00pm, a report was made to police that a man armed with a hammer had entered the petrol station and threatened an employer before stealing a quantity of cash.

The staff member was not physically injured during the incident.

The offender left the area on foot a short time later.

He is described as average build, wearing bike gloves, a black puffer jacket, grey shoes, and a black face covering.
