Police investigating fatal crash at Latrobe
Sadly, a 15-year-old boy from Devonport has died, and four other people have been injured following a serious crash at Latrobe overnight.
Police and emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 11.45pm.
Initial inquiries indicate the boy may have been the driver of a Holden Rodeo Ute travelling on Mersey Main Road, Latrobe when it collided with a Mercedes Benz W164 travelling in the opposite direction. Sadly, he died at the scene.
One passenger in the Holden Rodeo, a 14-year-old boy from Devonport, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Launceston General Hospital by Westpac Rescue Helicopter in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the Mercedes Benz, a 61-year-old man from Aberdeen, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene.
The passenger of the Mercedes Benz, a 60-year-old woman from Aberdeen, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the North West Regional Hospital by ambulance.
Mersey Main Road, Latrobe was closed for about six hours as crash scene investigators gathered evidence. The road is now open.
