Police investigating property damage in North West Tasmania
Police are seeking public information as part of an ongoing investigation into property damage in North West Tasmania.
Acting Sergeant Ben Strong said at this stage police have received 14 reports of damage between Burnie and Wynyard since Tuesday.
“At this stage in our ongoing police investigation, we believe offender/s have used a slingshot to discharge marbles and other projectiles into windows of houses, businesses and vehicles,” said Acting Sergeant Strong.
“The property destruction appears to be random, and there was potential for harm to have been caused to members of the community through these acts.”
“Everyone has the right to be safe in our community, and this dangerous behaviour is concerning.”
If anyone has information in relation to the incidents, suspicious behaviour, or cctv of areas affected, they are asked to come forward.
