Police investigating robbery of Australia Post motorbike in Rocherlea today

Police are investigating a robbery involving an Australia Post worker in Rocherlea this afternoon.

Around 12.40pm an Australia Post worker left his motorbike parked in a driveway without the keys while he delivered an item to a residence on King Billy Crescent.

As the worker returned to the bike he was approached by a man who instructed him to hand over his keys.

The worker provided the man with belongings including his keys and the offender rode the bike from the scene.

Police located the bike around twenty minutes later unattended on Dunning Street.

The Australia Post worker was not injured and no weapon was involved.

Police are investigating and ask anyone with information in relation to the incident to come forward.  Information can be provided to Tasmania Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
