Police investigating serious pedestrian crash in Launceston

Police are investigating after a woman was seriously injured in a crash in East Launceston this morning.

A blue Subaru Forester wagon travelling south on High Street collided with the 32-year-old South Launceston woman, who was a pedestrian, about 9am.

The woman was taken to the Launceston General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Subaru, a 72-year old man from South Launceston, was not physically injured in the crash.

Crash investigators attended the scene and High Street was closed to traffic between Union and Ann Streets, for about 1.5 hours while police investigated.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has any information that may assist their enquiries.
