Police remind motorists of dangers of drink driving following two high range detections

Police are urging drivers to remember the very real consequences of drink driving after two high range detections over the weekend.

“With two high range drink drivers detected over the weekend, it’s timely to remind all motorists of the very real dangers of driving under the influence,” said State Road Safety Coordinator, Inspector Gary Williams.

“When a driver gets behind the wheel under the influence, they face the very real risk of crashing and killing or seriously injuring themselves, and others.”

“I implore any driver who thinks drink driving is acceptable to think again. We all have a part to play in keeping everyone safe on our roads – not just police,” said Inspector Williams.
