Police to continue search for Shyanne-Lee Tatnell last seen near North Esk River

Police investigations are ongoing to locate missing 14-year-old Shyanne-Lee Tatnell, with further searches of North Esk River planned to occur over the coming days.

“Police are continuing to search for Shyanne-Lee, who has not been seen or heard from since Sunday 30 April,” said Inspector Craig Fox.

“We want to speak to anyone who was driving a vehicle on Henry Street, in the vicinity of the North Esk River between the hours of 8pm and 9pm on that Sunday.”

“These drivers could be potential witnesses of Shyanne-Lee’s last known movements, whether they think they saw anything or not.”

“We have CCTV images of some vehicles in the area at the time, and while the image quality isn’t great we’re hoping it may prompt drivers’ memories.”

“If you were driving through this location in either direction at this time, please make contact with police.”

“One small piece of information could be all we need to locate her.”

“Police are returning to the North Esk River today to conduct another search for Shyanne-Lee and any of her belongings.”

“On Thursday specialist police officers from Search and Rescue, our Dive Squad, and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter will also be deployed to search the North Esk River.”

“We have concerns for Shyanne-Lee’s welfare and urge anyone with information that may assist us to locate Shyanne-Lee, or determine her movements, to contact police on 131 444 or report to Crime Stoppers Tasmania – you can report information anonymously.”

Shyanne-Lee was last seen in the vicinity of Henry Street, Launceston, near the North Esk River, around 8:30pm on Sunday 30 April.

She is described as being approximately 160cm tall, slim build with blonde hair. At the time she was last seen, she was wearing a cream coloured hooded jumper with dark coloured writing on the chest and shoulder area. She was also wearing bike shorts.
