Over the last month in the Wynyard area there has been an increase of burglaries of motor vehicles, homes and stealing of motor vehicles. Most of these crimes have been opportunistic, with keys left in vehicles unlocked or doors of homes left open during the day.

A number of suspects have been charged in relation to these matters however people are reminded to lock their cars when unattended and to secure motor vehicle and house keys.
