Between 7 December and 11 December a house in Mawhera Avenue, Sandy Bay, was forcibly entered. 

A safe weighing approximately 40 kg was removed and contained the following items:

• War service medals
• Cash
• Numerous items of jewelry
• A rare complete half penny coin collection
