Scottsdale Police are seeking the assistance of the public following an incident of unlawfully setting fire to property at the female public toilets located at the Scottsdale Recreation Centre.

Sometime between 5pm on Monday, 3 August 2026, and 10am on Tuesday, 4 August 2026, an unknown person entered the toilet block and placed large toilet rolls into two porcelain toilet bowls before setting them alight.

The fires caused significant damage, resulting in both toilets being destroyed. Smoke and heat also damaged the cubicle walls and ceiling. The damage has been estimated at $1600.

Police have obtained CCTV images of a person who may be able to assist with inquiries and are appealing for information from members of the public who recognise the person or their clothing.

Anyone who was in the vicinity of the Scottsdale Recreation Centre during the relevant period, or who may have information relating to the incident, is encouraged to contact police.
