Search and rescue exercises in Hobart

Two search and rescue exercises will be conducted in Hobart on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September.

The exercises will include members from the Tasmania Police Search and Rescue squad and several volunteer organisations, including the State Emergency Service (SES).

The exercise on Saturday 21 September will be based in the Mount Wellington area and surrounding foothills, while activities on Sunday 22 September will be marine based, in the Dodges Ferry and Frederick Henry Bay area.

Members of the public will see an increased police presence in those areas, but should be assured it relates to training activities only, which are an essential part of maintaining skills and enhancing relationships with various volunteer groups.
