Search Ongoing For Missing Person – John Thomas Norrish

Police are renewing their call for public information as they continue to search for missing 52-year-old St Helens man, John Thomas Norrish.

John was last seen in the St Helens area on Monday, 26 November.

On Wednesday 12 December a large scale air and land search was conducted in the greater St Helens area, including the St Helens Point Conservation area and the extended vicinity of Powers Road and Mount Albert Road near Pyengana.

Helicopter crews conducted a day long operation to compliment Police Search and Rescue Teams and State Emergency Service personnel on the ground.  Large areas of bush and scrub in both areas were searched extensively with the assistance of motorbikes and quad bikes.

Previous searches of Georges Bay have also been conducted by both Police Marine and Rescue Services and Volunteer Marine Rescue, St Helens.

Police thank the members of the community who have provided information of possible sightings of John and urge anyone else who thinks they may have seen him to come forward.

John is described as 174cm tall, slim build and fair complexion with a long and pointed grey beard.  He was last seen wearing a green zip up jacket, cream cargo style pants and blunstone boots.  He is also believed to be in possession of his red and black mountain bike.
