At about 8:10pm on Saturday the 10th November 2018 a white Ford Falcon Sedan was travelling West on Faraday Street, Ravenswood from the Sunnyhill Country Club approaching the Faraday Street and Faulkner Road round a bout. The driver of the vehicle was a 49 year old male from Ravenswood and there was one passenger in the vehicle.

At this time the Ford Falcon has collided with a Blue Ford Festiva containing five occupants that was travelling in the opposite direction. The Ford Festiva was being driven by an 18 year old male also from Ravenswood.

With the exception of the driver of the Ford Falcon all other parties where conveyed by Ambulance Tasmania to the Launceston General Hospital where each party received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

Tasmania Police, Tasmania Fires Service and Ambulance Tasmania attended the crash.

Crash Investigation and Forensic Services attended the scene. Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing however initially indications are that alcohol and excessive speed are likely contributing factors.
