At about 5am on Friday 19 April 2019 emergency services attended a call to a single vehicle crash on Mole Creek Road about 200 meters from the junction with Lemana Road near Red Hills.  Initial investigations indicate that a green Toyota Camry was being driven west On Mole Creek Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle swerved to the incorrect side of the road before over correcting and sliding off the road and impacting with a power pole.

The driver was extracted from the vehicle and transferred to the Launceston General Hospital where he remains in a critical condition in ICU.

The driver is a 21 year old male from Tonga who is working in the area.

Drivers are reminded that with winter conditions come changed road conditions and that combined with increased traffic over the Easter period requires a higher level of concentration when driving.  They are urged to be conscious of their speed, wear their seatbelt and not to use mobile devices when driving.
