Six youths have been taken into custody after reports of a disturbance and anti-social behaviour in the Hobart CBD on Saturday afternoon.

Shortly before 4.30pm, police received reports that a group of youths were involved in a disturbance, assaulting several members of the public.

Police quickly attended the scene and arrested six youths nearby, aged between 12 and 13 years.

No-one was physically injured in the incident.

The youths were transported to the Hobart Police Station and were released into the custody of responsible adults.

They will be proceeded against under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 1997.
