Supplementary Media Release – Wounding in the Glenorchy Bus Mall

At 1.30pm on Sunday 10 April 2022, Tasmania Police attended the Glenorchy Bus Mall in relation to a disturbance and located a 31-year-old Glenorchy man with a wound to his chest. The man was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital and received treatment for the wound. The wound was stabilised and ultimately deemed non-life threatening.

Tasmania Police arrested a 17-year-old Glenorchy youth at the scene who assisted police with their enquiries. The youth was charged with wounding and bailed to appear in Court on a future date. Both the youth and 31-year-old man were known to each other. The wounding occurred during an altercation between them. No other members of the public were harmed during the incident.

Tasmania Police declared a crime scene to enable scene examinations to occur and would like to thank members of the public who were inconvenienced as a result. Police encourage any members of the public who witnessed the incident to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
