Two charged in relation to murder of Launceston man Jake Anderson-Brettner

Police have this afternoon charged a 26-year-old Riverside man with Murder and a 25-year-old Riverside woman with Accessory After The Fact Of Murder, in relation to the death of Launceston man Jake Anderson-Brettner.

They were both detained in custody to appear before the Launceston Magistrates Court tomorrow from 11.30am.

“Charging two people in relation to the murder of Jake is a significant development in the police investigation and the result of some excellent police work aided by public assistance,” said Detective Acting Inspector Craig Fox.

“A body located near Targa on Sunday has not yet been formally identified but it is believed to be Jake. The body was not intact and police will continue to extensively search multiple locations across Launceston to provide Jake’s family with closure.

“The circumstances of Jake’s death are traumatic and our thoughts and condolences are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time.”

Jake was last seen alive around 6pm on Wednesday 15 August.
