Two men and two youths in custody following Brighton evade

Two men and two youths are in custody following a traffic evade at Brighton earlier this morning.

Around 9.30am this morning a blue Suzuki sedan failed to stop for police on the Brighton Road near Brighton.

Police allege that car was subsequently driving erratically along the  Midland Highway and East Derwent Highway.

“The car was involved in minor crash on East Derwent Highway and was subsequently spiked near the intersection of East Derwent Highway and Grass Tree Road,” Acting Inspector Phil Curtis said.

“The vehicle came to rest on East Derwent Highway near Clarence Easy Living where three people were taken into custody (one man and two youths).”

Acting Inspector Curtis said that another man ran off into nearby bushland.

“As a result, the use of a drone was authorised and deployed, with the man running from the bush area and being quickly arrested.”

Initial investigations have revealed the car involved was stolen overnight.

Police investigations into the incident are continuing.
