Two people to be charged over Caveside home invasion

A man has been charged and a woman will be proceeded against by summons in relation to a home invasion at Caveside in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Detectives from Launceston CIB today searched a house in Prospect and recovered property allegedly stolen during the incident.

About 3am on Sunday, 26 April three people reportedly entered a residence at Caveside, waking the elderly resident, and allegedly stole a number of items including jewellery and electronics.

A 30 year old Prospect man has been charged with aggravated burglary and stealing. He has been remanded in custody and is expected to appear in court in Launceston at 3:30pm today.

A 25 year old Prospect woman will be charged on summons in relation to property offences.

Launceston CIB are continuing investigations in to the matter.
