Inspector Darren Hopkins remains in a serious but stable condition in the Royal Hobart Hospital Intensive Care Unit after being involved in a light plane crash on the weekend.

“Darren continues to show further positive signs of improvement,” Commander Brett Smith said.

“A number of operations are planned over the next week as part of his recovery process. This will see Darren’s condition fluctuate, which is expected with these types of injuries.

“His family and medical team remain positive that Darren will recover in time.”

Tasmania Police continues to provide Darren’s family with support at this difficult time.
