Section 49AB of the Police Offences Act 1935 requires that a person must not organise or conduct a Road Cycle Race or Road Cycle Event without a Permit (if it is to be held wholly or partly on a public street).
- Road Cycle Race:
- Means a race, rally or other competitive sporting event involving two or more cyclists.

- Road Cycle Event:
- Means an event that (a) involves 70 or more cyclists, and (b) requires the use of public streets.

An Application to Conduct a Road Cycle Race or Event should be completed and forwarded to the Commander of the nearest District police headquarters.

Event dependent, an eight week lead time is required to ensure your permit is approved in a timely fashion. Please contact the relevant office should your event fall outside of this time frame.
